Welcome to the homepage of Craobh Sciobairin branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoirí Eireann - an organisation formed over 50 years ago to foster and promote Irish music and culture in the Skibbereen area of County Cork. Founded in 1969, Skibbereen Comhaltas is based in Skibbereen, West Cork and our membership is drawn from many of the surrounding towns and area's including Rosscarbery, Drimoleague, Baltimore, Ballydehob, Aughadown and Caheragh, as well as the town itself.
Craobh Sciobairin is dedicated to the promotion of Irish traditional music, song and dance. To achieve our aims, we organise regular sessions, trips and committee meetings and we also encourage our members to participate in Fleadhanna Cheoil. Skibereen has been the host venue for Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan on a record four occasions: 1976, 1995, 2001, 2003 and most recently, hosted a hugely successful Fleadh Cheoil Chorcai in 2014 .
If you like Irish Music, why not browse our website or e-mail us for more information. You can also view our photo gallery to see photo's of some recent branch activities, and why not sign our guestbook before you leave and let us know what think of our site. Who knows, you might even decide to join us! New members are always welcome
