This years Ceol an Gheimhridh (Winter Fleadh Cheoil competitions) Cork County Finals -  which takes place in Macroom on Sunday, November 17th. We invite our members Under 14 to consider entering this competition.


The rules have been changed for this year's competition - the age groups are now Under 11 and 11/14 as of Jan 1st 2019



To be received by Branch Secretary, Rosemary Coughlan no later than Tuesday, October 22nd 2019


Competitions are:


Reed (Button Accordion, Piano Accordion, Concertina, Pipes)

Wind (Whistle and Flute)

Strings (Fiddle, Banjo, Mandolin, Harp)



English Singing

Irish Singing

Recitation of a Poem


Céilí Dancing (4 Hand/8 Hand Ladies & Mixed)

Set Dancing

New competition: for Mixed Polka Sets

Age groups are Under 11 and 11-14 (as of January 1st 2019)


You need two contrasting tunes if entering music and two songs (one fast, one slow) if entering singing competitions. Specific guidelines for set dancing/figure dancing are to be found in the rules.


No entry fee - you only pay admission charge at the door on the day

Please Note:

If you are placed 1st or 2nd place in a competition you will qualify to represent Cork in the Munster Finals on February 16th 2020 in Dromcollogher, Co. Limerick


Please note:

You must be a fully paid up member of Comhaltas for the 2020 branch year to enter. If you have not renewed your Comhaltas membership by the closing date we will not be able to register you with the County Board in time and you will be ineligible to enter
