County Fleadh 2024 Results

Well done to our branch members who had a very enjoyable weekend at the Cork Comhaltas County Fleadh in Douglas last weekend. In solo competitions, a total of 10 Skibbereen branch members have qualified to represent Cork at Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan in Thurles next July. Well done to all

Well done to our Under 12 Céilí Band and their tutor Hannah Collins who were winners of 3rd place at Fleadh Cheoil Chorcaí in Douglas last weekend and were recommended to go through to Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan in Thurles in July. For most of the band it was their first time performing in the Fleadh and they gave a great performance to qualify for the Munster Fleadh.

Under 12 Results:

• Kevin Zheng (Kearney) - Fiddle, 1st place; Fiddle Slow Airs, 1st place; Piano, 2nd place.

• Charlie Óg McCarthy - English Singing, 1st place.

• Áife O'Brien - Piano Accordion, 3rd place.

12/15 Results

• Kevin Duffy - Bodhrán, 1st place; Drums, 3rd place (recommended).

• Ciara Connolly - Whistle Slow Airs, 2nd place.

• Chloe McCarthy - Piano, 3rd place

15/18 Results:

• Kellianne French - Whistling, 1st place; Harp Slow Airs, 1st place; Harp, 3rd place (recommended).

Senior Results:

• Andrew Collins - Piano Accordion, 1st place; Piano, 1st place.
